5-23-02: My DSL is down :(
It has been offline for 3 days, and other than a few phone calls
to hear how stupid I am there has been nothing done to repair the problem. They
just keep telling me there is a problem. Gee, thanks, I thought the fact I
didn't have internet service might let me know there was a problem, but thanks
for telling me too. The down side to all this, I will not be updating the
website until the DSL is back online. That will not happen until at least
Tuesday when they send a tech out to the house. So until then.... Chet

5-14-02: Well, we had a big scare today. I was at clinicals with
Kneecoal's OB doctor and I get this phone call. I pickup, it's Kneecoal, and she
is crying. My knees went weak and I thought I was going to be sick. She said I'm
bleeding and I'm on my way there. I call Jane and tell Kneecoal to let Jane
drive her to Toccoa (Jane is going to hate getting phone calls from me!) So
after the longest 30 minutes of my life Kneecoal shows-up at the office. Her
friend April one of the CNMs at the clinic comes in and orders an ultrasound.
What a relief to see Liam floating around in his mommy's tummy. He was happy as
ever. He didn't even know there was a problem. After checking everything on
ultrasound, April takes a look at her cervix and finds a small spot that was
bleeding. Everything was fine, but she called Dr Meadows and he told her to put
Kneecoal on bed rest for the next 24 hours just to make sure. Well, I couldn't
stay I had to take her home and watch over her for the rest of the day. I don't
think I would have been much good to anyone at clinicals and I know I wouldn't
have learned anything. Anyway, all is well, just keep us in your prayers.

5-11-02: We are 16 weeks today!! Liam is making his mom's tummy
poke out more every day. She is so cute I want to hug her. Today at work we paid
for a few quiet days. This was the worse day we have had is a while. A lot of
trauma, and several codes. Brian didn't even get to enjoy his day as the charge
being. I think he even broke a sweat a few times he was working so hard. I don't
think anyone sat down except at lunch. Kneecoal said it was the same in OB. I'll
try and get the calendar posted in the next few days. Maybe Monday. I don't
remember the last time I had a full day off with nothing to do. Kneecoal has
gone to bed, and I think I'll join her. We have one more day at work until we
have a break.

5-08-02: We spent the day at a breast feeding conference. We learned
everything you need to know to tell patients that want to breast feed. While we
were there we saw Steve's sister Vickie. We bought tickets for some drawings
that they were having. Two of the items they were drawing for were electric
breast pumps. Kneecoal plans to breast feed, and has been looking at buying one.
One of the pumps was a Medela that cost $180 the other was a Nurture III that
cost $158. These were the two big items they had to give away. We paid $35 each
for the conference and bought $10 worth of tickets. Kneecoal said she would be
happy if she won either of the pumps but that she had planed to get the Medela.
Well, she won both of them! And some other breast pads $25 worth! So for our $80
investment we made about $350 return and we got 8 hours of clinical time!
Everything is going fine with the pregnancy, Liam is growing every day.
Kneecoal's little belly is getting bigger. She looks real cute. We bought her
some summer clothes after the conference.

5-05-02: Finally had a chance to use my new mower today. We had a visit from
Kneecoal's Grandmother and Grandfather, then after lunch we had a visit from the
Harris clan. For the people in my family the name is Liam-pronounced "lee am"
not "lie am." We have our last final exam tomorrow, then class on Tuesday.
Kneecoal is doing great. Liam is growing and making his mommy's tummy poke out
more and more. Terry Harris even noticed Kneecoal's belly today under a large
shirt.

5-04-02: Well, I know it's been awhile since I did an update. We have been
finishing up this semester, and starting the next. We just go home from Atlanta.
We enjoyed a weekend with Kneecoal's family. We went to
Georgia Tech for Kneecoal's cousin,
Katie's, graduation. It was fun to be with her family, but the rain was the
pits! It poured for hours. In the middle of the graduation the power shutdown,
so part of the people walk across the stage in the dark. After the graduation we
enjoyed a nice BBQ at Katie's friends house. We left there and went to
BabiesRUs
to add some items to the list. Anyway, now I can add to my resume that I
attended graduation at GA Tech! Baby Jack is doing well, and has spilled over
his Mommy's pubic bone, so her tummy is poking out!
With the help of Kneecoal's cousin, Kimberly, we have selected one of the
names I picked.....
