4-30-02: Well, we went to see the doctor yesterday. Everything looked good. Kneecoal's cervix was over 2 cm longer. That is a good thing. It was the goal of the cerclage and it worked. Her ultrasound showed that the baby is a BOY! Now we have to come-up with a name... I told her if she didn't have one by the time the baby was born I was going to call him Jack. Naming him for our little Jack Russell that died last week. In another unrelated story Big John and I bought a new lawn mower yesterday too.

4-24-02: Last night was our last night of patho! We have one more day of class to take our finals and get the first OB-GYN stuff out of the way. We will be out of class until June. We will be tied up with clinicals for the whole month of May! Kneecoal is doing fine. We had our follow-up appointment and she is now off bed rest. Dr. Meadows told her if she had ANY problems she would be on strict bed rest for the remainder of her pregnancy (that would be 27 weeks right now). It was all I could do to keep her on the sofa for a week! I don't know what I'll do if she has to spend more than that. I don't think it will be an issue. Or next appointment is Monday, I know we are going to have an ultrasound, so we may know the sex next Monday. Well, clinical tomorrow so I'll go to bed now. Email with any questions.

04-18-02: Well, all is going well. Kneecoal hasn't had any problems. I was out of work yesterday so I could sit with her. I have to leave her tomorrow. I have fixed her lunch so all she has to do is take it out and heat it up. She goes back to see the doctor on Monday and hopefully she will be released from bed rest. She has done her part. She hasn't been off the sofa more than 20 minutes since we came home. And those times were spend sitting in a chair. I took her outside yesterday and she sat in the rose garden. I think she enjoyed the change. I have made her promise to stay on the sofa tomorrow except to put her lunch on the microwave. So that puts everyone up-to-date. I'm off to bed.

04-16-02: We are home from the hospital. Everything went fine. Kneecoal is now the not-so-proud owner of a cerclage. It was a very stressful experience and we are glad it is over. The cerclage will stay in for most of her pregnancy. It will be removed around 35-36 weeks. She will not be required to be in the hospital for the cerclage to be removed. It is removed in Dr. Meadows office. Kneecoal is on bed rest for the next two days at least, then very limited activity. She can't leave the house until next Monday for her appointment with Dr. Meadows. He will let her know at that time if she can return to school and/or work. I think I'll do some work on the website while Kneecoal takes a nap.

04-14-02: Well, it's the night before Kneecoal's cerclage. She just ate a late supper, and has gone to bed. I just finished watching the Man Show, and South Park. We had a busy weekend, and we are both tired. Jenny and Terry have a new little girl! She is cute as a button. I think Kneecoal is pretty nervous about the surgery, I am too. And with that I think I'll go to bed. Keep us in your prayers.

04-10-02: Kneecoal had a busy day at work. She could hardly keep her eyes open on the ride home. Her surgery will be around 10:30 on the 15th. She is doing well, and has had no problems. The cerclage is just a precaution. Jenny Harris still hasn't had her baby. She looks like she is about to pop! I check one of the sites Kneecoal is registered at today and FYI:

This is day number 79 - you're 11 weeks pregnant!
You have 201 days or 29 weeks left, and are 28% of the way there.
Baby's age since conception: 65 days or 9 weeks
.

04-05-02: We worked in the yard today. Jordan and I planted our garden, and Kneecoal planted some flowers. She spent some time working with the rose garden. No problems with the pregnancy. The cerclage is planned for April 15th. It will be at Stephens County Hospital. We are nervous, but agree this is the best plan.

04-03-02: I think I will add information to this page at the top and just let it grow. I don't have the energy to add the pictures tonight, so check back later for those. I might just put a link at the top for them. Kneecoal has the start of a little belly. I'll have to get some pictures soon. She didn't feel the baby last night, so that might have been gas the other night. Right now she is doing what she does best.... SLEEPING! Well it is almost 10 pm. I'm thinking of a complete redo of the website. It would be a pain, but I think it needs to be reorganized. Maybe later.

04-02-02: We saw the baby on our last visit. He was doing this little in the tummy dance. We got to watch for a  few minutes while we waited on Dr. Meadows. The HR was 174 this visit. Everything looked good. I'll try and get the pictures posted soon. Kneecoal says she feels what she thinks is the baby moving around when she is in bed. She is just over 10 weeks. It's still hard to believe that she is pregnant!
