11-13-02: I guess everyone knows by now that the boy is here! As the main page tells he got here on Tuesday 10-29-02 at 0135. He is doing great. We left the hospital on Thursday. Liam weighed 5#13oz on discharge. The following Monday (just 4 days later) at his doctor's appointment he weighed 6#13oz! This past Monday (11-11-02) he weighed 7#6oz and was 21" long! A fast growing boy. Liam has been on vacation to Atlanta, and had his fist day in college. Jordan is still beside herself. She doesn't even want to go to school. She wants to stay home with her new brother. Today is the twin's birthday. We will be celebrating when Jordan gets out of school today. We go to the cemetery and take them their presents, and release a birthday balloon. Saturday is the tournament in memory of the twins. We have several sponsors, and about 10 teams playing. If anyone still wants to play let me know 245-9168 we would love more teams. The money raised will be donated to The March of Dimes. We plan to make this an annual event... so, if you can't play this year we will look for you next year.

10-28-02: Well, she is contracting. She started this morning at about 5am and has been going every since. She is having them about every 5-15 minutes. Leave it to Kneecoal to have everything planned. If she had started sooner we wouldn't have been able to get organized. The dogs are excited about doggie camp. Bella has been hyper since she saw her bag come out of the closet. She knows that bag equals doggie camp. I've got to go now and get ready. We have to take the dogs, and I have to get my hair cut (Kneecoal's idea not mine). Net update will come after Liam gets here. I may try and get Todd to come over and post a picture online. If not there will be one up when we get home.

10-21-02: I guess everyone should plan on being at the hospital on Monday the 28th. It looks like Kneecoal is going to hold my boy prisoner as long as she can. We have an appointment today and I'm sure there will be no change. The boy is very active and trying to get out, but his mother will not let him. Dr. Meadows said he would induce her on her due date, but that falls on Saturday. So we are planning for the following Monday. I'll let you know more tonight.

10-18-02: Well, it's our 5th anniversary today. I never knew 5 years ago when I married this sweet girl that she would change into this STINGY woman! She just won't give me my baby. She has him trapped in her tummy and plans to keep him there! She has a measly one contraction per day. She has 8 more days and were are going in after him. Today we are going to Anderson to buy the boy a hat. He "needs" one that ties under his chin and covers his ears. Now this child has about 30 hats, but he "needs" one that ties under his chin because he doesn't have like that. So off we go, maybe the walking will spark some good contractions. As a side note Melody was nice enough to ride up and take "belly" pictures the other day. We should have some great shots. She took a lot of Kneecoal, then a lot of the belly, and some with Jordan, me and the Belly. Can't wait to see them. The golf tournament planning is going great, need some players.

10-10-02: SET MY PEOPLE FREE Kneecoal is just being plain mean. No matter what I say or do she will not give me my baby. I told her it was time to set my boy free. She has one or two contractions a day. The most was yesterday when she had 4. Everything is looking good. We heard from the folks at the March of dimes and they are sending a ton of stuff for the tournament. They are sending golf shirts, hats, towels. etc... That will be a great help for door prizes. We still need sponsors, and players.

10/01/02: Well, we are now short timers! Kneecoal had her stitch (cerclage) removed yesterday. She had some bleeding, but it stopped by today. Now we have a bet as to when the boy will get here. I think it will be in the next two weeks, Kneecoal says she will be overdue! I think he will come on Wednesday so Kimberly can come up, but he my have other plans. The golf tournament is going great. We have 9 sponsors so far!! I have had several offers for help, and I appreciate them all. Todd has been helping with the plans and has gotten several of the sponsors. We still need all the sponsors and door prizes we can get. Soooooo.... If you know anyone give me a call.

9/27/02: I know I'm scum, and I've probably lost my only fan. If you're still there here is the latest. We have a shower tomorrow, and the boy's room is packed with great gifts from the last two. We have loved it all. The kindness of others has been so abundant! Kneecoal and Liam haven't been playing well together. Liam has been doing a lot of stretching, and poking. You can watch Kneecoal's belly distort when he gives it a real good stretch. Kneecoal is cute as I've ever seen her. Her belly is almost as big as mine! We go Monday to have the stitch removed so everyone should be waiting by the phone. I think we have an order to try for a Wednesday so we'll plan for that. Kneecoal has been living it up now that she is off bed rest. She is still out of work, but she can at least get around the house. Jordan is getting excited. Her team beat Hart County in soccer. The Golf tournament is set for November 16th at 11 am. We still need hole sponsors and any help we can get. Sorry for the delayed update. Hope everyone is doing as good as the Fords! Live is good!

9/14/02: I've been awful lax in updating the website this month. My only faithful reader has started to complain again, so I've got to get back to work. Kneecoal is now on limited activity. What, you may ask, is limited activity? Well, it just means that if she wants a sandwich she can get up and fix it!! That is if no one else is there to fix it for her. Dr. Meadows even said she could go on the occasional trip to Wal-Mart. I've got a new picture that I will get online tomorrow. It's the BIG Belly Cam shot for this month. It's looking good. I'm still working on my golf game. I'm going to try and have a golf tournament in memory of Will and Ches in November. If we can get everything together it will be to raise money for the March-of-Dimes. I hope to make this an annual event. The plan is looking like November 16 or 23. Mark your calendars and plan to attend. The entry fee will be $50. Teams of 4 Captain's choice (best ball). Prizes to win, and free lunch. Please tell everyone you know and join us for a fun day and a good cause.

8/31/02: It's my weekend to work so I haven't had time to give an update. All is going well. Dr. Pinkerton came to the ER the other day to let me know that she is going to call Dr. Meadows and see if he won't leave Kneecoal on bed rest. She said that it doesn't make sense to be on bed rest this long just to get up and have Liam come early. She says the risk is too big for the pay-off. I told her she didn't need to try and convince me. I agree that Kneecoal should say out of work and on bed rest or at least limited activity until she is due. I know she is going crazy, but she has gone this long, what is a few more days. Kneecoal agrees, but would really like to be able to get up enough to fix a sandwich. I think Dr. Meadows will agree with whatever Kneecoal wants. In other news the Dogs won today. Lucy got out of the underground fence and couldn't get back in. I had to call Todd and get him to come over and unplug it long enough for her to get back n the yard. My golf game still stinks!

8/26/02: Kneecoal's visit went great. Still on bed rest. She asked if she could just get up and fix her own sandwich, he said ask me again in 14 days. Until then still on strict bed rest. Liam's weight was 3# 6 oz. His foot is huge and his legs are long. Every thing looks great. Take a look at this picture of my boy, I think you will agree he is a handsome devil! Well the store part is up and running. I have provided links to the items that Kneecoal has selected for Liam. I've also provided a search box for baby items if you are looking for a gift for someone else. You can reach the site by clicking on the Baby Gifts link. If you are interested in books, take a look at the book link for two of my favorite author's books. They can be purchased by clicking the links!

8/24/02: We started a new online store! It was free to start and maybe we will get some money while Kneecoal is out of work.  Kneecoal is doing great. She is at 31 weeks today!! Liam should be close to 4 pounds and he is very active. He wakes us both up in the mornings. Kneecoal has really enjoyed all of her visitors this week. If you can't visit give her a call... She'll be here. Update: The dogs were sprayed by a skunk last night. Bella got the big blast. You don't even know how bad a dog can stink! I found a site on the internet that had a mixture to remove the smell. It really worked! 3 tsp dish detergent, 1/2 c baking soda, and a bottle of peroxide 3%. The only thing that still smells a little is Bella's face around her eyes. I was afraid to wash that close to her eyes with that stuff. Her body smells fine. You can't even tell she was sprayed.

8/22/02: Kneecoal is doing great. She has had the dancing baby in her tummy all day. Liam kicks and wiggles and sticks his butt out. I think we are in for TROUBLE when this wiggle worm gets here. Kneecoal is going to have her hands full! I say Kneecoal b/c she thinks he is going to be this little sweet angel that will be born behaving. I really think the boy is going to shock her kinda like I did with my mother! I think she is a great mother, and she will adapt, but not before the boy gets the best of her! (HA! I can't wait to hear her say LIAM! don't you throw that bowl down.... SPLAT!) I can't wait. As requested the speed test is back. It is on the index page and I put it here>

8/18/02: Kneecoal had a good birthday yesterday. We had a small group over to help celebrate; the Duncan's (Brian, Renee, and Brandon), and the Harris' (Terry, Jenny, Jacob, and Mattie). You can look at the pictures here. Today her friend Angy is bringing her lunch. School starts back tomorrow, so I hope I can go and play a round of golf. If Brian will put his foot dawn and let his wife know who is boss he is going with me.

8/15/02: Another great round of golf today. Second game under 100 in a row. On to the more important stuff. Kneecoal had her OB appointment on Tuesday. Her cervix was closed and Liam was head down!! Dr. Meadows said he even thought about letting her up from bed rest! I told him I would rather he didn't and he said, "Oh, I'm not, I was just thinking about it." It was nice to have some good news. The cabinets are done. Even the bathroom! It feels good not to have that to worry about. Kneecoal has learned to use FrontPage and has updated her page. You can take a look here, or follow the family link to the left.

8/10/02: Kneecoal passed her GTT. She is doing well. She has heard from a lot of people this week and has enjoyed that. Liam is still very active. Today is painting day. Big John came by and painted the mantel. He is the only person coming. Jordan is over at the James house playing with Phil. I am slowly painting the cabinet doors. I played golf yesterday, and shot better than I ever have. I finished just under 100 for 18 holes. Not bad.

8/05/02: Kneecoal had her Glucose Challenge Test (GCT) today. She must not have studied because she failed. Her glucose was 154 mg/dl.  That means that she will have to go tomorrow for a Glucose Tolerance Test (GTT). Click on the link to see what this is and what the results could be. On the way home her sugar dropped and she became weak and shaky. We stopped and bought her a snickers and Mt. Dew in case she fails the GTT, then she at least got to have one last candy bar. Everything else is fine. We have or next appointment next Tuesday. If anyone wants to help get some painting done between now and then let me know. I can put you to work!

8/04/02: We had a great weekend at work. Nice slow days. Kneecoal had a bad weekend, nice slow days! Really she is still doing great. She is bored, and ready to be off bed rest. She did take a nap today. She has 42 more days on bed rest!! She has been on bed rest for 28 days. She says it feels like it has been longer. I think she will make it with no problems. Her spirits are still, anyone that wants to come see her, come on! She gets tired of seeing just me and the walls. Phone calls would be great too.

8/01/02: Everything is going fine. I think that Kneecoal is getting a little irritable. She is tired of watching TV all day, and not being able to get up and do for herself. Everyone has been great helping me take care of her. We have people call everyday to say they are coming the next day to feed her while I'm at work. I presented our research project proposal today. It really went a lot better than I thought it would. I was up until 4:30am working on the paper and presentation! I am the king of procrastination. I took a 2 hour nap as soon as I got home. Lucy had one accident last night before bed, but she went every time I took her out. She has already learned to "get in your crate!" What a smart girl. The FrontPage 2002 really is a nice program. It seems to work a lot smoother than FP2000. The navigation options are improved, and photo's are easier to handle. If you have time give Kneecoal a call. She loves hearing from everyone. It is a nice distraction to bed rest.
